Local Law Enforcement Conducts Drive-By Child Seat Check

ROGERS, AR -- Newly trained technicians put their new safety skills to work Saturday.
ROGERS, AR -- Trained child seat technicians spent Saturday passing along a few tips to parents.

The Benton County Sheriff's Office, along with other local law enforcement agencies, held a free, drive-by inspection.

Drivers were allowed to swing by and have their child restraint seats checked out.

One of the lieutenants participating spoke to us about why something like this is so important.

The common fact is 80 percent of child restraints are improperly used, or not used at all," Lt. David See with the Benton County Sheriff's Office says,

"Doing these programs and doing these clinics helps us reduce that."

If you missed Saturday's event, you can call the BCSO any time to schedule a child safety seat inspection.
