Logging Truck Collides with Pick Up Causing Fuel Spill on Highway 12

ROGERS, AR -- Arkansas State Police say the driver of a truck was injured after crashing into a logging truck on Monday.
ROGERS, AR -- Arkansas State Police say the driver of a truck was injured after crashing into a logging truck on Monday.

According to reports, Erwin Homeier was driving west on Highway 12 east of Highway 303 when he crossed the center line, colliding with the front of the logging trailer.

The accident was reported at 1:06p.m. Benton County Sheriff's Office says traffic was blocked going both directions as a HazMat team worked to clean up fuel that spilled onto the roadway. Fire departments from Rogers, Beaver Lake and Piney Point responded to the accident.

Homeier was taken to Mercy Hospital with injuries. Arkansas State Police say he was ticketed for careless driving and improper display of license plates.
