Man Accused of Taking Money From Woman with Alzheimer's

Fayetteville police say Stuart McCoy charged the 87-year-old for roof repairs he never made.
FAYETTEVILLE -- A Fayetteville man is accused of taking advantage of an elderly woman with Alzheimer's Disease. On January 2nd, police say Stuart McCoy, 41, told the 87-year-old woman she needed roof repairs and charged her $400. Problem is, detectives say McCoy never repaired anything. That same day, surveillance video from a bank shows McCoy cashing the $400 check. During an interview, officers say he told them he was just cashing the check for a friend who did not have an Arkansas ID. McCoy faces a charge of abuse of an endangered or impaired person.
