FAYETTEVILLE -- Fayetteville police say a man drove his car into several mailboxes Thursday night and punched a sheriff's deputy at the Washington County jail. Officers say Dominique Taylor, 21, was on drugs and hit mailboxes on Betty Jo and Jewell Road with his car.

According to police, Taylor initially said he had not been involved in any accident, but the mailboxes were sticking out of his car windshield, and he had shards of glass all over his clothes and hair.

While at the jail, a deputy helping Taylor change clothes says Taylor punched him in the face. Taylor faces battery, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a property accident and DWI charges.
