Missouri Lawmaker Pushes To Raise Interstate Speed Limit
MISSOURI -- A southwest Missouri lawmaker wants to hike the speed limit on interstate highways. State Representative Mike Kelly wants to increase the interstate speed limit to 75 miles per hour. That's five above the current 70 mile per hour limit, and Arkansas currently shares that requirement. Which means when crossing state lines, there would be a sudden speed hike. Kelly says his bill would follow in the footsteps of 17 other states where speeds have already been raised, and while some may worry about a potential increase in wrecks, Kelly says a Texas study didn't see a connection.
