A pack of six chicks is now up for grabs, for six bucks each.
It's the latest variety pack offered up at Ozark Natural Foods in Fayetteville.
The store is now selling live baby chicks for those home-grown farmers.
And clerks have been busy taking pre-orders over the phone and in the store.
The offering comes after cities in Northwest Arkansas recently approved an urban farming ordinance, allowing people to keep up to four chickens, three goats and even one beehive.
"So as people get more interested in raising their own food and connecting with their sources of food, we thought, hey, why don't we offer them the chance to get some Heritage Chickens that were raised on our organic feed and cared for by one of our local farms," says Pauline Thiessen with Ozark Natural Foods of Fayetteville.
The chicks come in a pack of six, for $6.00. If you haven't pre-ordered yours, you can pick up any unsold packages at the store this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They'll even come with a free five pound bag of chicken feed.
