((UPDATE)) BENTON COUNTY, AR-- Rural emergency services will continue through 2014, uninterrupted in Benton County. Benton County officials voted Thursday night to fund rural ambulance services, just two days after voters rejected an $85.00 annual fee for homeowners.
"We fully intend to find a way to fund Benton county EMS," county officials said in a meeting Tuesday night. "We do not yet know how exactly we will fund it. Service will not be interrupted."Benton County Finance Committee members say they would fund the full $796,339, the amount needed to continue service. The measure now goes to the Benton County Quorum Court, which will vote whether to affirm the committee’s decision.
