FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- Prosecutors investigating the budget deficit at the University of Arkansas found no wrongdoing on the part of Don Pederson, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at the school.

In a letter to a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, the prosecution said Pederson did not provide false documents to legislative auditors investigating the budget shortfall at the U of A Division of University Advancement.

"We are most appreciative of the due diligence by Mr. Bercaw that led to this outcome," U of A Chancellor David Gearhart said in a statement from the school. "We believe this is the appropriate conclusion. At this point, we are actively engaged in moving forward toward our goal of being nationally recognized as a top 50 public research university and planning our next capital campaign."
