Northwest Arkansas Developing More Trails

With more folks on the trails, Northwest Arkansas is expanding the path.
FAYETTEVILLE -- The Fayetteville trail system is just one of the many trails growing in Northwest Arkansas.

"Kind of started here in Fayetteville and it's been excellent to see how it spreads throughout all the communities of Northwest Arkansas," said Matt Mihalevich, the city's trails coordinator.

With a nearly $1 million grant from the Walton Family Foundation, Fayetteville plans to build even more trails.

"They'll be primarily in the south part of town, South of MLK and even south of 15th street," Mihalevich said. "The big push is to connect up the new regional park with the paved trail system."

The regional park will be located on Cato Springs Road. It will be a part of the Razorback Regional Greenway, a 36 mile trail connecting Fayetteville with Bella Vista.
