NWA Clinic Stressing Importance of Kids' Immunizations

A local clinic is telling parents to get their kids' shots taken care of.
SPRINGDALE -- For the Northwest Arkansas community clinic, the message is simple: the earlier kids get their shots, the better.

The clinic is holding back to school immunization clinics across Northwest Arkansas throughout the next week. It's part of a national trend: bringing medical care to local schools. The clinic operates clinics for schools in Springdale, Fayetteville and Prairie Grove, with plans to add more clinics in the near future.

"We have a big need in Northwest Arkansas for healthcare for our children and where better to serve them than at school," said Misti McCoy, director of nursing for the clinic. "Immunizations protect our children from disease and they can actually save your child's life."

The clinic will fill you in on the shot requirements, your child's vaccine record and make sure you're up to date on the immunizations.

The NWA Community Clinic is hosting more clinics at their school-based centers. For more, click here.
