Inland Service’s pickup has been delayed by one day due to the icy road conditions. Residences that are on hilly roads, may be missed. In the event your pickup is missed, your next pickup will occur on your normal pickup day, next week. You will be allowed to set aside 4 additional bags of trash and recycling bags next to your can. Please contact the transfer station at 479-878-1384 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Winter weather is also hampering trash collection in Bentonville. Here's the inclement weather waste procedure from the city's website:
During periods of inclement weather, primarily snow and ice, Allied Waste may need to delay or suspend collection for the safety of the public and their drivers.
Depending on the conditions, collection may be suspended or delayed for the entire City, resulting in everyone’s collection being delayed one day. It is more likely that a partial suspension would occur where individual neighborhoods or streets are delayed due to the terrain and/or conditions in that particular area. In this situation, the rest of the City would be collected as normal and the areas with delayed collection would be collected as soon as conditions allow.
Regardless of whether there is a complete or partial suspension of trash collection, please place your cart at the curb on your normal collection day and leave it at the curb until your street has been collected. This will allow Allied Waste to collect your street as soon as possible and prevent you from missing any information regarding the collection of your street.
According to a press release from the City of Fayetteville, trash, recycling & yard waste services will resume once conditions are deemed safe. You can read the entire press release from Fayetteville below.
Fayetteville, AR – Due to the recent changes in the weather and severe icy road conditions the City of Fayetteville Recycling and Trash Collection Division has suspended all solid waste for Tuesday, February 4, 2014, (Trash, Recycling and Yard Waste) Residential and Commercial collections. The Recycling and Trash Collection Division services will be delayed until road conditions improve to allow resuming operations in a safe manner.
Collections for the week of February 3rd are currently suspended and an announcement will be made later regarding when services will resume as conditions are evaluated. Considering the weight of the Solid Waste Trash Trucks and the dangers should the truck hit & damage an object as a result of loss of traction, along with the safety of the Recycling and Trash workers is of great concern as their jobs require them to be outside and exposed to extreme cold conditions – the safety risk is too great for operations to continue at this time.
The Recycling and Trash Collection Transfer Station will be closed on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. An announcement will be made later regarding when the Transfer Station will reopen based on the condition of roads, icy conditions, and whether the landfill operations are open and available.
The Marion Orton Recycling Drop Off Center and the Recycling and Trash Collection Offices will be closed as well Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.
If you have any questions about your recycling and trash collection services, please contact the Recycling and Trash Collection Division at 575-8398 when City offices are open tomorrow Feb. 5, 2014 or view information posted on the City’s website at www.fayetteville-ar.gov and on the City of Fayetteville Government Channel.
