ARKADELPHIA, AR -- In October of 2012, KNWA and FOX 24 lost someone very special, and Thursday he was honored by his alma mater in the Natural State.
Matt Turner co-anchored KNWA's evening newscasts and worked with us for nine years. He left Northwest Arkansas to anchor the news at THV in Little Rock, closer to his family in Arkadelphia. Just six weeks after starting his dream job, Matt was killed in a car accident on Interstate-30.

He was just 32 years old and had just started a family. Matt and his wife Julee welcomed their daughter Preslee just tenth months earlier.

Matt was born and raised in Arkadelphia and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University. Thursday, OBU bestowed a great honor upon Matt, and his late father, Gary Turner, naming the school's TV station after them.
