So much so, Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, issuing a consumer alert on the topic on Wednesday.

Among the warnings from his office to renters around Arkansas--

Make sure to have a written lease.

Ensure that it is binding by both parties.

Clarify who maintains the property.

And a reminder, under Arkansas law, landlords are not required to provide additional maintenance if it is rented "as-is."
