Executive Director Kathy Grisham says they've tripled the number of exam rooms and now have offices for behavioral health. The clinic provides health care for those in the community who would otherwise go without it, and Grisham says 40 percent of their patients are uninsured.
"We were turning away about sixty patients a week here and we knew the need was great so we started planning when the Affordable Care Act was put into place and got finished with this building last fall," she said.
According to Grisham, a federal grant covered about half of the expansion costs. Donations, including $200,000 from Tyson Foods, paid for the rest.
