A leadership class sparked the idea when the students were asked how they may be able to help with problems the city faces. The students decided a community owned hockey team with a sports arena was the answer.
Last week, they proposed their $450 million arena idea to at a public meeting.
"We just presented to them what all the options were, how we could do it, the possibilities, and just show them that if you dream big maybe something could happen,’ Brock Smith said. Smith graduated from Union Christian in the spring.
The students will be taking a trip to Green Bay in the next few weeks to do more research on how to make their dream a reality.
