The American Heart Association's Northwest Arkansas Heart Walk was held at Arvest Ballpark in Springdale. Cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of all Americans, so Saturday was spent educating folks on the importance of physical activity and eating healthy. Participants learned CPR on the baseball field, got health screenings, and there was some fun for the kids too.
"We have a lot of activities going on today for the kids, Spartacus is one of them. He loves to walk around on his hands teaching kids about physical activity... The idea is to get kids up and active and eating healthy," said Alexis Sims, Communications Director for the American Heart Association.
The American Heart Association's goal is to hit $1-million in donations and it is the second year they have hit that goal at the NWA Heart Walk.
