Investigators in Las Vegas are working to determine what prompted a married couple to ambush two police officers during a Sunday shooting rampage. The two officers were having lunch when they were shot and killed. Police say the shooters may have been anti-government extremists, believing law enforcement and other people who support the government to be oppressors.

An audit of more than 700 Veterans Affairs facilities released Monday found that tens of thousands of veterans were waiting to be scheduled for care nationwide. The Dept. of Veterans Affairs announced it was scrapping performance bonuses for all senior management in 2014 as part of its response to the review. According to the audit findings on Monday, a 14-day deadline for providing care to newly-enrolled veterans such as those coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan proved "simply not attainable" due to growing demand and a lack of capacity.

71 percent of Americans say it's time to raise the federal minimum wage, according to a new CNN Money poll. 36 percent want an increase to $10.10 an hour, the rate President Obama has proposed. 19 percent would like to see a smaller increase. And 16 percent think it should be higher than $10.10. The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour. Several states and cities have taken matters into their own hands. Last week, Seattle passed the highest minimum wage in the nation at $15 an hour.

It was a day of special prayers at the Vatican where Israeli President Shimon Peres met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Pope Francis brought the two leaders together on Sunday but not to talk politics. This was a first at the Vatican as he leaders of two peoples in conflict, Israelis and Palestinians came together to pray. An olive tree was planted to commemorate the occasion, a symbol of peace, and the Mediterranean land which is home to the conflict. Both presidents had a chance to meet privately with Pope Francis after the ceremony.

Stargazers were treated to an amazing celestial show in the skies above St. Cloud, Minn., early Sunday. The Northern Lights danced across the heavens in a dazzling display of vivid moving colors. Scientists say a powerful geomagnetic storm caused this stunning panorama of the aurora borealis.
