NASA has released an awe-inspiring time-lapse video of earth taken from the International Space Station. The expedition 30 crew captured everything from haunting Northern Lights to stunning thunderstorms over Africa.

The NFL toughens its domestic violence policy. In a letter to the league's 32 owners, Commissioner Roger Goodell said there will be a six-game unpaid ban for personnel who violate the league's policy. A second incident would be punished by a lifetime ban from the league. The move comes following criticism for a two game suspension for Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. Goodell didn't mention rice by name but he acknowledged in his letter that he made the wrong decision in that case.

An online streaming company has confirmed an alleged audio of the shooting of Michael Brown...was indeed recorded near the time of his death. Streaming app company "Glide" authenticated it. The revelation bolster's a man's claim he inadvertently recorded audio of the shots fired at the 18-year old by an officer on August ninth. Experts say you can hear 10 shots. CNN cannot independently verify the authenticity of the recording. But the sounds could be a piece in the larger puzzle of what happened during the shooting, which spurred days of protests in the Ferguson, Missouri.

The UN Security Council opens an emergency session to discuss Ukraine. This marks the twenty-fourth session to manage Russia's aggressive acts in Ukraine. US Ambassador Samantha Power was in attendance to express her outrage towards the country. She says Russia is not listening and have violated international law in occupying Crimea. Russia is denying the conflict and says they will attempt to bring peace.
