Marijuana smoke was so strong in the jet's cabin, that the crew put on oxygen masks. Bieber reportedly was also verbally abusive to the crew after repeated requests to stop smoking.
Sandwich chain Subway says it is removing a controversial chemical from its breads. Azodicarbonamidis used to strengthen bread dough. It's also found in yoga mats and shoe soles to add elasticity. Subway says it's in the process of removing the chemical from its breads. The chain notes, however, that the ingredient is approved by the U.S.D.A. and the F.D.A.
Two people arrested in connection with the drugs found in Philip Seymour Hoffman's apartment are now out of jail. One of them, 22-year-old Max Rosenblum, was released after his family posted his bond. Authorities say Rosenblum was one of four arrested in a raid in which police recovered 350 small bags of what's believed to be heroin. Rosenblum's attorney says his client never met Hoffman, and is not connected to him in any way.
The T.S.A. has temporarily banned carry-on liquids on flights between the United States and Russia. The ban also includes gels, aerosols and powders. It's a response to information reported Wednesday that terrorists might conceal explosive materials in toothpaste and cosmetic tubes. However, these items will be allowed in checked bags.
The search for a missing newborn leads Wisconsin authorities to Iowa, but there's still no sign of the baby. Police did take a person into custody in connection with the disappearance of 5-day-old Kayden Powell. The woman was reportedly in the family home hours before the child disappeared. The baby's parents called police Thursday when they discovered the infant missing. The case doesn't meet the requirements to prompt an amber alert.
