The app called "Fixed" will contest the ticket, including suggesting reasons it might be invalid, gathering supporting evidence, and submitting the proper paperwork. If the driver beats the ticket, they pay Fixed 25-percent of what the citation would have cost.
Police have arrested a man in Australia accused of groping "Modern Family" star, Sarah Hyland. The actress and the rest of the show's cast are in the country filming an episode of the hit show. Hyland was posing with a fan when he allegedly touched her inappropriately. He has been charged with indecent assault.
Colorado plans to reap the benefits of the marijuana industry. The state's joint budget committee says Colorado will receive $184 million in pot taxes by June of 2015. Some of the money will go toward preventing kids from using the drug. Colorado taxes marijuana three times: when it's produced, sold and bought. The state also expects to see $610 million in total sales. Marijuana became legal for recreational use in Colorado on New Year's Day.
The National Transportation safety board now plans to launch a formal investigation into a United Airlines flight that encountered severe turbulence. Five people were injured when a Boeing 737 was rocked by turbulence just before landing in Montana on Monday. United is also reviewing the incident.
The government has issued a warning to airlines about possible shoe- bomb threats. A U.S. official says it's a credible threat tied to Al Qaeda, which has never given up its intent to attack the U.S. again. There is no specific target, but the assessment is Al Qaeda will try to place a shoe bomb on an airline bound for the U.S.. The U.S. believes it knows exactly where the threat is coming from, but officials are tight-lipped.
