NUMBER 5 - POPE SAYS INTERNET IS "GIFT FROM GOD"
Pope Francis is calling the internet a "gift from God." The description came in a papal statement on the Roman Catholic Church's World Communications Day Thursday. Pope Francis says the internet is a good place to discuss God, but also cautioned that it has its pitfalls, saying the speed of information is greater than our ability for reflection and judgment.
NUMBER 4 - NOROVIRUS OUTBREAK ON CRUISE SHIP
It was a not-so-pleasant vacation for passengers on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, after 300 people came down with the same stomach bug. Passengers on board Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas ship set out for an island voyage, but now the ship is docked while the CDC investigates the Norovirus outbreak. The cruise line says it doesn't know what's causing the illness.
NUMBER 3 - SHERMAN FINED FOR ACTIONS ON FIELD
The boastful interview he gave after the Seahawks won the NFC Championship game has made Richard Sherman a household name. Now, some of his actions on the field during that game are going to cost him. The NFL has fined Sherman just over $7,800 for "taunting" during the game. He was penalized for making a choking gesture aimed at 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
NUMBER 2 - MARYLAND MALL SHOOTING
Columbia, Maryland is still in shock after police say Darion Marcus Aguilar, 19, went on a shooting rampage, killing two people before turning the gun on himself. Authorities say he was armed with a shotgun, a large amount of ammunition and home-made bombs. Investigators are still trying to figure out Aguilar's motive... And if he was connected to any of the victims.
NUMBER 1 - GRAMMY AWARDS
The French duo Daft Punk walked away the big winner at Sunday night's Grammy Awards. They won Album of the Year and Record of the Year for the hit "Get Lucky." Lorde won Song of the Year for her song "Royals." Macklemore and Ryan Lewis walked away with Best New Artist. Beyonce performed with hubby Jay-Z and former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Star reunited on stage.
