Traffic Increasing On UA Campus This Week

With move-in going on throughout the week, folks are seeing traffic issues on or near the UA campus.
As University of Arkansas students return to campus, that means heavy traffic around the university may be a factor in your commute.

Wednesday was assisted move-in day at the U of A. Many students have waited until now to come to campus, so expect heavy traffic on the north side of campus, right off Garland Ave. More university employees are also back to work this week, meaning areas like Dickson Street and Maple Street will see more cars on your commute, and with the added traffic, university police say it's important to be prepared early.

"Coming through campus is gonna be really crowded and time-consuming so if you're under schedule, you probably need to plan in advance and take an alternate route," said Capt. Gary Crain of UAPD.

Sorority recruitment is also going on throughout the week. Plan to see more pedestrians and scooter traffic on and around campus and make sure to allow extra time on your commute if you're anywhere near campus.
