Students are promoting the safety and rules that go along with having a scooter both on campus and on city streets.
FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- Students at the University of Arkansas got together Wednesday to promote scooter safety. Members of the Arkansas Student Government handed out flyers and sunglasses at the Arkansas Union. Their goal was to make students aware of the safety and rules that go along with having a scooter both on campus and on city streets.
"We just want to bring it to light that there's going to be more scooters on campus as we continue to grow, and to have students know the safety risks involved." said Elizabeth Kyle, Arkansas Student Government Director of Student Health and Safety.
By law, in Arkansas, all scooter riders must wear some kind of eye protection, and anyone under 21 must also wear a helmet.
