UCA Fraternity Member Arrested for Hazing

Pledges say four of them were paddled and left with whelps and bruises and were unable to walk without pain.
CONWAY -- A University of Central Arkansas fraternity member is accused of hazing pledges. Isaiah Ozuna is charged with one count of battery and four counts of hazing. UCA police say it happened off campus at a home Tuesday. A police affidavit identified Ozuna as the "Dean of Pledges" for the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. Pledges say four of them were paddled and left with whelps and bruises and were unable to walk without pain. It's an incident the university says it isn't taking lightly. "We go through a very lengthy process to ensure this kind of behavior does not happen at UCA. We have a number of programs outside of just membership intake," said Fredricka Sharkey with the university. UCA officials say the fraternity can no longer have chapter activities, pending further investigation.
