SAN FRANSISCO -- Is this the city version of cow-tipping? Authorities in San Francisco are looking for a group of vandals accused of over-turning at least three Smart cars early Friday morning.

Police say the suspects wore black-hooded sweatshirts. The two-seat, German-made vehicles were tipped onto their sides. Officials say they weigh about 1,600 pounds, less than half the weight of an average car, making them relatively easy to tip.

Smart cars are gaining popularity in urban areas because of their gas mileage, 40-70 mpg, and they're easy to park in tight spots. If caught, the culprits could face felony vandalism charges.
