FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- The 2014 National Veteran's Golden Age Games kicks off at the University of Arkansas from June 28th through July 2nd and you're invited to help.
The Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks needs about 800 volunteers. Military veterans 55 and older who receive health care at any VA medical facility are eligible to compete and the games are a chance to compete against others in things like bowling, table-tennis, swimming, and more.
Everything from cycling and swimming to checkers to dominoes.
"It's just such a great mission to keep veterans healthy and active these games are to keep veterans training all year.We really could use a lot more volunteers to help pull this off," says Wanda Shull, Public Affairs Officer with VA Health Care System of the Ozarks.
