Voter ID Battle Rages On With May Primaries Four Weeks Away
LITTLE ROCK -- Wednesday marks a key deadline in the battle over voter ID in Arkansas. The Republican Party of Arkansas wants a judge to uphold a state plan to allow absentee voters roughly six days to provide identification after voting. That's the plan for the state board of election commissioners. The Pulaski County election commission filed suit saying that period of time is too long. Both sides have until the end of Wednesday to file responses related to the lawsuit. The issue will be decided ahead of the May 20 primary.
