Walmart Tops Fortune 500 List for 2014

BENTONVILLE -- Monday's announcement of the Fortune 500 list marks ten years on top for the world's largest retailer.

BENTONVILLE -- Monday's announcement of the Fortune 500 list marks another year on top for the world's largest retailer.

The annual list has been ranking companies by total revenues since 1955. Exxon Mobile took the second spot while Chevron, Bershire Hathaway and Apple (edging into the 5th spot) rounded out the top five this year.

Fortune reported the company's revenues totaled $473.1 billion and noted the Bentonville-based company's recent foray into gas stations, Walmart To Go, and drugstores, Walmart Express, and small grocery stores, Neighborhood Market. Back in March, the retailer opened the a Walmart To Go in Bentonville - the first of it's kind in the world. Read more.
