Watch: Reporter Takes You Down the World's Tallest Waterslide

KANSAS CITY -- The 17-story Verruckt is even taller than Niagara Falls.

KANSAS CITY -- The tallest water slide in the world is now open in Kansas City.

The 17-story Verruckt is even taller than Niagara Falls. Aptly named, Verruckt means "insane" in German.  The slide is just over 168-feet tall and riders will have to climb 264 steps to get to the top.  The ride can reach speeds of up to 65 miles-per-hour.

The official launch date of the water slide was delayed three times as it underwent more testing.

In the name of journalism, NBC News’ Kevin Tibbles slid down the tallest, fastest waterslide and took a camera with him.  Take a look in the video above.
