Date Set for Special Razorback Trophy Ceremony

The Burlsworth Trophy presentation is coming soon and open to the public. Find out how to vote for your favorite Razorback walk-on's and how to get tickets to the event.
SPRINGDALE--

The Burlsworth Trophy presentation is set for Monday, December 9th at the Holiday Inn convention Center in Springdale. The award will be given to the most outstanding NCAA Division football player in 2013 who also began his career as a walk-on.

The Burlsworth Trophy honors the memory of Brandon Burlsworth. Through his unbelievable work ethic and ceaseless determination, Brandon began his college career as a walk-on for the Razorbacks and eventually became an All-American player. Brandon was selected by the Indianapolis Colts as the 63rd overall pick in the 1999 NFL draft. Unfortunately, Brandon was tragically killed in a head-on automobile collision just 11 days after the draft.

The University of Arkansas has created an endowment in Brandon's name. Eighteen $5,000 academic scholarships and one $10,000 walk-on athletic scholarship are awarded each year. The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation is engaged in various charitable endeavors including the provision of free eye-care to thousands of underprivileged children.

The luncheon event is open to the public and begins at 11:30 a.m. with tickets priced at $50.
