Bikers are bursting into Northwest Arkansas, and making themselves comfortable at Jonathan and Lisa Schilling's house.
"We put in our ad that this was a home to our family and three small children and that we wanted it returned to us the way that it was received... You would probably pay in the low 100 per room at a hotel, plus you have access to the kitchen, the grill in the backyard... We're going to leave the condiments and the plates," said Lisa.
"The garage will be available to them, so if they want to park the motorcycles," said Jonathan.
At $300 a night, the Schillings said the home-style living is a steal for Bikes, Blues and Barbeque renters and a side hustle of sorts for their family. After a simple ad on Craigslist, a few phone conversations and background checks, they booked the ideal candidates.
"With three children, our budget doesn't really afford for yk some of the home improvements we'd like to make... I've always thought it would be really fun to have a bed and breakfast... This is a way that I can do that in a little way... We are putting together a notebook for the renters who are coming in that include information about Fayetteville's noise ordinances... Local restaurants because we want them to try and spend locally."
And if all goes well with this first renting experience, they may be posting another ad in the near future.
"Depending on how the Hogs do with football toward the end of the season, maybe a few weekends there as well," said Lisa.
The Schillings also had some tips for families considering renting out their home. Make sure to plan ahead about what you do not want to leave behind like financial records, firearms or medications. They also recommend including a minimum night stay in your ad.
