Elks Lodge Cooks up Chili for Charity

ROGERS, AR -- A bubbling pot of chili and a few baked goods taste even better when you know they're for a good cause. The Elks Lodge in Rogers cooked up some Monday for its 11th Annual Chili Feed. Folks chowed down to help a local charity called Open Avenues. Its mission is to help adults with physical and mental disabilities find jobs and transportation.

"These are people that are either physically or mentally challenged," say Elks Lodge member Victoria Trujillo. "If they didn't have us, they wouldn't have a ride to work."

The Rogers-Bentonville Elks Lodge also collects items to help the veterans in the Fayetteville VA home. If you'd like to donate to the vets or to Open Avenues, you can drop those donations off at the lodge 501 S. 40th Street in Rogers or call (479) 631-0831.
