Eureka Pizza's Leverett location is one of the stops on the Arkansas Renewable Energy Tour Saturday.
Forty panels supply 20 percent of the power that the original Eureka Pizza location uses each day. The owner says he installed panels after reading an article about the price of solar power dropping to new lows.
"It's a good investment," Rolf Wilkin says. "We paid $40,000 for it, after our federal tax credit, after depreciation, after SWEPCO payment, it's $12,000, so you're talking about a 5,6,7 year payback for a 25 year system, so it's just good business."
The public is invited to come and view the panels and converters that switch dc current to ac from 10a.m to 4p.m. For more information on the tour and other participants here in Northwest Arkansas, visit this site.
