FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The Fayetteville Visitors Bureau is honoring its very first Hospitality Hero of the Year! Christopher Jones works at the Chancellor Hotel near the square. The visitors bureau chose him as its 2013 hero based on customer reviews. He received the award during a special luncheon Thursday.

"It really makes me feel like I'm really doing something right in life," Jones said. I've got a gift and I'm thankful for it."

In addition to a plaque, Jones also received a free massage and tickets to a Razorback basketball game.

According to the bureau, Jones was chosen from the 12 monthly winners of 2013 who were honored for their exceptional examples of the city's ongoing commitment to provide outstanding service to each and every visitor. The Hospitality Hero program began in January 2013, is designed to stimulate and reward exceptional customer service by employees working in the hospitality industry. In its first year, the program received 210 nominations from 22 hotels and restaurants in Fayetteville.
