BRYANT, AR-- A well-known former football player is accused of trying to fill a forged prescription for pain meds at a Bryant pharmacy.

Bryant police said they were called to Fred’s Pharmacy on Hwy 5 around 11:30.  According to a report, Cedric Cobbs, 32, and Gary Hunt, 59, were trying to pass a fake prescription for 180 Roxicodones, a pain medication. Officers say the two men initially tried to make run for it, but were pulled over a short time later.

Cobbs was arrested on charges of conspiracy to obtain drugs by fraud, fleeing and driving on a suspended driver's license. Hunt was arrested on a charge of 2nd degree forgery plus outstanding warrants out of Sherwood and a felony parole warrant.

Cobbs played for Arkansas from 1999-2003. He was drafted by the New England Patriots and later played for the Denver Broncos.
