The event helps fund scholarship for single parents in NWA. Golftoberfest starts at 10 a.m. at Gator Golf in Fayetteville and admission is $15 a person.
The non-profit serves Madison, Carroll and Washington counties.
"When we help low income single parents go back to college, their children witness that and it sets an example for them. They then begin to value education as well. We know that when a parent does well in college, it's a good indicator that the child will do well in college, also," said Jody Dilday, Executive Director of SPSFNWA. "So, the cycle of poverty is broken and generations of prosperity are created."
