How Will School Districts Make Up Snow Days?

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS --- We are going into day 7 of snow days. So, what are local schools plans to make up for the missed days.
NORTHWEST ARKANSAS --- Many Northwest Arkansas schools will be out on Tuesday, January 7th.

This will be day 7 of snow days this winter.

SPRINGDALE: The district had 5 snow days built in for the school year and all of those have been used up. Monday, January 6th was suppose to be a teacher in service day, but after the December snow storm, officials decided to use the day as a school day. However, that day turned out to be a snow day as well. January 20th will be used as a school day as well, instead of a day off for MLK day. If there are any more snow days, the district will have to figure out another plan. However, the district does not plan on having Saturday school.

FAYETTEVILLE: A make up day for December 5th will be Saturday, January 25th. If required, a second make up day will be Friday, March 14th. The day was previously designated as an inservice day. If required, a 3rd make up day will be Saturday, February 8th. If required, a 4th make up day will be Friday, April 4th. That day was previously scheduled as a parent teacher conference day. If required, a 5th make up day will be Saturday, April 12th. If required, a 6th make up day will be Saturday, May 3rd. If required, a 7th make up day will be June 2nd. If required, an 8th make up day will be June 3rd. If required, 9th, 10th and 11th make up days will be June 4th, June 5th and June 6th.

BENTONVILLE: Thursday, December 5th will be made up on Monday, January 20th. Friday, December 6th will be made up on Monday, February 17th. Monday, December 9th will be made up on Friday, May 30th. Tuesday, December 10th will be made up on June 2nd. A fifth snow day would be made up on Tuesday, June 3rd and so forth.

ROGERS: According to the Rogers Public Schools website, RPS will make up five missed school days on January 20th, Feburary 17th, May 27th, May 28th and May 29th. Eastside Elementary, which is on a continuous learning calendar, will make up its five days on Jan. 20, Feb. 17, and April 28, 29, & 30. Click here for a revised calendar.
