WASHINGTON COUNTY, AR-- The Washington County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating an early morning house fire in Winslow that sent one man to the hospital.
A 911 call came in at around 7:30 a.m. Friday, from a neighbor who said the mobile home next door was on fire, according to Fire Marshal Dennis Ledbetter.
Boston Mountain and Washington County fire crews arrived to find a man they believe to be the resident, lying in the driveway.
He suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was air lifted to Washington Regional Medical Center.
Investigators say they haven't identified him because he's not yet able to speak due to his condition.
The Fire Marshal says it appears the man was attempting to extinguish the fire himself and may have been over taken by smoke.
Ledbetter says the home is a total loss.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is under way.
