NORTHWEST ARKANSAS-- Mass flu shot clinics are now open for anyone needing a vaccination. The Arkansas Department of Health started offering them for free in every county on Monday. They are day-long events where the community and the health department immunizes as many people as possible. Some clinics even have drive-thrus. Students around Northwest Arkansas are also getting free flu shots through the end of October. With the number of flu cases expected to rise in the coming weeks, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine.
