FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- The Moonlight Masquerade was underway at Mermaid's, with the hope of unmasking domestic violence in our community.

The annual night out raises funds to benefit local charities and shelters, such as Peace at Home Family Shelter and the Northwest Arkansas Women's Shelter. The event was being hosted by the Junior League of NWA and their mission is to end domestic violence in our area.

"The more we talk about it the more open it is because we're all affected by domestic violence, unfortunately," said Vanessa Miller, President of Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.

By getting the conversation started, they are hoping to help put a stop to the cycle of abuse.
