New Lights in Little Rock Brighten Up Brigdges

LITTLE ROCK -- Things are a lot brighter in downtown Little Rock thanks to a generous gift from Entergy Arkansas. The company paid $2.4 million to light three bridges in Little Rock and North Little Rock.

Thursday night, Entergy formally dedicated the lighting of the Junction, Clinton, and Main Street bridges. Former President Bill Clinton spoke briefly about the revitalization of the area near the Clinton Library.

Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola says the light display will be a featured attraction for so many. "It will bring people on from all over the area all over the state. We will have a regular light show on a weekly basis, so that people can see the light show everyday, but a special light show on the weekends," Stodola said.

Planners say the ceremony brought 5,500 people to the area, and will attract even more long term.
