NWA Projects Set To Wrap Up In 2014

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS -- With the new year comes renovations to Northwest Arkansas. Each city will see changes in 2014. Many, of which, will be in the areas of construction.
SPRINGDALE, AR. --- The sight of barrels in NWA will soon be gone as construction projects wrap up in 2014. The city of Springdale is in the middle of it all.

"We've been looking for 2014 because we knew a lot of these things would begin to happen," said Springdale Mayor Doug Sprouse.

"Certainly one of the big regional projects that should be completed this year would be the Razorback Greenway," said Sprouse.

The Greenway will wind throughout the region and is said to be finished the summer. Traffic will also move a little easier with the widening of the interstate as well.

"540 is going to be moved to six lanes all through the corridor," said Sprouse.

Sprouse said even though his town is only one of many to see improvements with the new year, the changes go beyond city lines.

"I think everybody is finally making the connection between quality of life and economic development because they do go together and I'm thankful that we're on a track now to continue to improve those amenities not only in Springdale, but in all of Northwest Arkansas," said Sprouse.

The Greenway is set to be completed in the summer of 2014 and the widening project should wrap up in late 2014.
