BENTON, AR -- Six weeks into the school year, parents of a Benton Junior High algebra student say his textbooks are just now arriving.
BENTON, AR -- Six weeks into the school year, parents of a Benton Junior High algebra student say his textbooks are just now arriving.

The frustrated parents say that isn't their only complaint as they've grown frustrated with the Common Core and are getting no answers from administrators.

Officials with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) say they encourage administrators to keep parents informed to avoid such frustrations.

"The other thing I would say is we're only a phone call away," says ADE's Tracy Tucker. "If a parent has questions and wants to talk to someone, pick up the phone and we'd be happy to talk about Common Core and implementation."

ADE also encourages frustrated parents to submit questions or concerns to the their website, which they reply to frequently.
