ROGERS, AR -- A man is accused of assaulting a cab driver.

Rogers police said a call came in around 11 Thursday night.  The driver told police he'd been called to pick Matthew Jones up from Boar's Next BBQ because he was drunk. But after getting a ride to 705 N Turtle Creek Drive, Jones had refused to pay his taxi fare, pulling a knife on the cabbie.  Officers on scene said the driver and another man told him Jones, 35, had gone into the home with the knife but had left the front door open.

Jones came to the door and tried to shut it, resisting officers attempts to take him into custody, according to a report.  During the struggle, Jones face and shoulder hit some bricks, injuring his eye.

Jones faces charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and theft of services.  His bond was set at $5,000. He's scheduled to appear in court on March 3.
