Police: There's No Serial Killer in Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK-- The posts on Facebook have warned "black women" to "be very careful."
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Social media posts suggesting there may be a serial killer on the loose in Little Rock has warranted a response from police.

Lt. Sidney Allen, spokesman for the Little Rock Police Department, sent the following statement via email this afternoon:

The city of Little Rock has had 30 homicides this year. Eleven (11) of those homicides are active investigations. Only one (1) of those eleven involved a black female that was found outside. There is no empirical data that suggests there is a serial killer in the city of Little Rock.

The posts on Facebook have warned "black women" to "be very careful." The posts claim that seven women have been found dead and their bodies dumped in different areas and refer specifically to last month's discovery of a woman's body along Kanis Road.

The posts state that all the victims were black, had tattoos, were "stabbed or choked to death" and cite a local funeral home director as saying the deaths haven't been reported by local media.
