Fayetteville is already crowded, and slick roads could make the traffic situation even more dangerous. Sgt. Craig Stout says there have been a few minor motorcycle accidents already, but only one serious wreck at the intersection of Dickson St. and College Ave.
As more bikers ride into town though, Stout expects the number of mishaps to rise. He wants drivers to be patient, and to keep a close eye out for motorcycles, especially if it rains.
"It's been a while since we have had a significant rain, so some of the oil that's on the roadway, you obviously want to be very cautious when you're traveling whether you're in a car or a motorcycle," Stout says. "Wet weather can create a substantial risk. It's a lot harder to keep control."
