JONESBORO -- A police officer made a startling discovery when he found 7 puppies taped inside a cardboard box near a busy intersection.
JONESBORO -- Seven puppies are lucky to be alive after they were found abandoned in a box in Jonesboro. On New Year's Day, Sergeant Larry Rogers says someone noticed a cardboard box full of abandoned puppies near a busy intersection and called police. The puppies were brought to animal control for processing but one puppy later died. The incident is now under investigation.
"[We're] working with CID to obtain the fingerprints off the box and see if they can't get fingerprints off any of the tape that's on the box also," said Sergeant Rogers.
Before someone decides to dump an animal Roger advises that they bring it to animal control instead.
