David Sterling officially launched his campaign for Arkansas Attorney General Tuesday saying he wants to reduce the role of the federal government in the lives of Arkansans.

Sterling reported raising $50,545 for his campaign in the first quarter of this year.

"My top priority as Attorney General will be to defend the Constitution and protect the
liberty of all Arkansans from an overreaching federal government," said Sterling. "As
Attorney General, I'll stand up for state authority and individual liberty by working to
rein in a federal government that has grown too powerful," he remarked.

Sterling listed other priorities as:
  •  Fighting President Obama's efforts to limit our Second Amendment rights
  •  Defending Arkansas law that restricts abortions after 12 weeks
  •  Protecting farmers and ranchers from an out-of-control EPA
  •  Defending Arkansas' constitutional definition of marriage
  •  Aggressively prosecuting Medicaid fraud
