Sara Symons Trial Set to Start Monday

The 17 year-old Bentonville High School senior was killed while traveling on Interstate 540 on September 1st, 2011.

The Sara Symons trial is set to start next Monday in the Benton County Circuit Court.

The 17 year-old Bentonville High School senior was killed while traveling on Interstate 540 on September 1st, 2011. Sara had been named to the BHS homecoming court that very day.

Her family has filed a lawsuit agains the other driver, Kendall Riggins, for his part in causing the collision.

Also named in the suit, Chrysler, the manufacturer of Symons' 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Key Safety Systems, the maker of the seat belt which the family believes failed during the collision.

The trial is expected to last eight days.
