According to Pope County authorities, the handicap bus was driving down a hill when it hit a solid sheet of ice, began sliding and then hit a ditch and flipped.
The Pope County Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management and the Dover Marshall's Office responded to the scene where witnesses reported the bus driver had led students out of the back door of the bus since it had flipped on its right side, blocking the main entrance.
The kids were then taken to a local residence as they waited for emergency services to make it to the scene.
There were 10 people total on the bus including a teacher and the bus driver. The two injured each suffered a sprained ankle.
